Which parties do you think would be willing to form a government with the Tories?

Lib Dem talks will fall through and the Tories will run a minority government and Cameron's will go to the queen for a dissolution a week or two after the conferences.

It seems like it would be more beneficial in the longterm though to work with smaller parties such as DUP and Plaid Cymru.

Democratic Unionists Smiley They should be possible to deal w/.

PC won't work w/ Tories, it's just very unlikely. Nor would it help much. Even if they manage to get some sort of a coalition, incorporating everybody but LD and Labour, it won't be stable. Even if nobody defects, over an average parliament, any gov't usually looses a few MPs due to natural causes, leading to by-elections, which it not infrequently looses. LDs are the only ones capable of providing any modicum of stability. And they won't cost more than the mutually exclusive demands of a wide array of minor nationalists.

There are three real possibilities:

1.  Con/LibDem coalition, which could be stable for several years.

2.  Minority Con government, which probably would not last a year.

3.  A caretaker government that lasts until the Queen's Speech, and a new election is called by August.

Option 1 is probably the most preferable.

Another dissolution isn't allowed until atleast September. I think a PM has to wait atleast 4 months.

What if it is a vote of no confidence?  That is my reference to the Queen's Speech.
