We've done participatory threads many times but they always seem to die out early on.  That being said, I'm proposing a new idea for a participatory thread.  Basically my idea is to start a story which begins at the start of the American Revolution and goes to present day.  I will keep the story going but, at the end of every post I will put forward a question on which everyone can vote (for example, if it were 1940 “Does FDR decide to run for reelection?”).  After we get some votes and I get the opportunity to post again I will continue the story following the decision receiving the majority of votes.

I’ll do my best to keep this thread going.  On certain issues and times (such as during wars) I may spend more time than on others.

Basic ground rules:

*On each issue, 1 vote per person unless otherwise designated in the aforementioned question(s).  This is really going to be more of an honor system thing.  Be a good cyber citizen, this is just for fun.

*I’m going to try to keep things reasonable and, in so doing, will offer up reasonable options.  If at some point you guys feel the thread has “jumped the shark”, please let me know.

*There will be no fixed amount of time or fixed # of votes before I continue the story.

Are we using your standards for reasonable? If so, those are pretty low standards.
