One of the greatest men of the 20th century, in my view.  Amazing, amazing man.  There's nothing more compelling and wondrous to me than his explanations of how the universe works.

I see people like the late Sagan as the true philosophical leaders of the era: by being able to convey the amazing reality of scientific wisdom in such a compelling manner, he showed himself as the Homer or Hesiod of the Space Age.

I've been going to sleep with his voice in the background for years.

Sagan ingested even more THC than I could ever hope to, even  if my lifespan exceeds his by a couple of decades, and still seemed to function well. Not bad. He was pretty skillful in making the complex accessible to the public in an entertaining way, even though some lacunae was lost in the translation.

I have a very high opinion of him.  I don't carry around a "Top 25 People" list, but I can tell you that he is definitely on it.

He was something that is true rarefied air in these days, and that is a true scientist and philosopher.  The man who coined "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof," also rejected narrow and close mindedness.

He popularized astronomy, but his actual contributions to it were minimal.
