Did anyone watch the new series on the History Channel? Talk about SKIMMING over early American history. They barely touched the Revolution and jumped from Plymouth to the Boston Massacre. What the hell?

Yeah, I was fairly disappointed with it.

Should be interesting to see how much attention is given to the genocide.

Knowing the way it's gone a quarter of the show will go to the "genocide".

Oh, is it a "look how terrible we are" kinda thing?  That would just as bad as a "look how amazing we are" history show.

It's such a turnabout for History. They aren't just coppying and pasting from a textbook.

For instance, they actually pointed out that Baron Von Steuben was Gay!

Yes, the experts in history like P Diddy, Al Sharpton, Sheryl Crow and random other rejects. They even had Gates, Jr on there! Hilarious. This perhaps is one of the worst documentaries in the history of the History channel.

And it has never been proven Steuben was gay, just speculated and even then, why does it matter?

Plus, the only mention of the war of 1812 was the White House burning and no mention at all about the Mexican War. I know it's "controversial" to talk about that war because you may offend Mexicans but it was a very important part of our history.

This series is probably good for 9th graders but above that level it's so basic as to be useless.

"Texas, California and the southwest were brought into the US through war". That was literally all that was mentioned about the war.

Well alot of people think that the south wanted those states to expand slavery thats not true, we wanted California for the ports which would open up trade thus expanding our economy to otherwise unattainable markets.
