Einzige is probably more conservative than Jesus, fiscally speaking.

Agreed, though it would be difficult to say for sure. Huge profligate governments did not really exist 2000 years ago. Wink

Uh, check your history books.

While I find "government size" to be a ridiculous concept, it's obvious that government has far more influence on people's lives now than it did then.

Of course but technology has had a lot to do with that. But government was certainly profligate back then.

In terms of welfare, there was a somewhat modest grain dole (though covering as many people as it did, that was a big deal).  That's about it for the Roman welfare state.  We have Social Security and Medicare.

You might be tempted to count the Romans' massive public works projects, most notably baths and aquaeducts, under the same category.  I'll give you both, because aquaeducts kept millions (hundreds of thousands, depending on the period) alive.  Still not at all comparable.

Now, their military expenditures were probably a higher percentage of their GDP than the US' is, though it's impossible to know, but consider how much of the Roman military budget went to soldiers' salaries!

Well E has now been crucified, so the only remaining issue, is will he rise again? Or something.

Our savior!  I will now write the Gospel of Morgan, an account of the life and works of Einzige.

Of course. There's not a single state where Einzige would break 10% in.

Except D.C. because they're just that liberal.

Washington or Oregon would be Einzige's best state.

They have the highest per capita populations of non-religious.

Being non-religious doesn't mean they support bigotry and hatred. They may be opposed to organized religion, but Jesus' social and economic views I'd imagine would be quite popular.
