What is your opinion of Arab Nationalism?

I think it was important for those tribes to become modern, and thus I would have supported the cause from the mid 19th century to mid 20th century. In any event without Arab Nationalism we wouldn't have that great movie Lawrence of Arabia.

I tend to be sympathetic to unification movements (I like big blobs on maps), so I've always had a soft-spot for Nasserist pan-Arabism.  Not much of a soft spot, though, and not enough of one that I wouldn't recognize the horrific actions of his brutal regime.
