Jerry Brown defeats Jimmy Carter barely in the primaries. He chooses Ted Kennedy as his VP.

Gerald Ford barely defeats Governor Reagan, and chooses Bob Dole as his VP.  Reagan is not to happy, and runs as an Independent Conservative with Jesse Helms as his VP.

What happens?

Brown wins, since Reagan and Ford split the Republican vote. However, I seriously doubt Brown will pick Ted Kenendy as his VP due to Chapaquiddick and due to the huge ego of the Kennedys.

Who would you think Brown would have chosen?

Lloyd Bensten or Hugh Carey might have been possibilities.
