The first map is the Georgia primary result, Kerry in red, Edwards in green.
The second map is the percentage Black in Georgia, over 30% green, under 30% pale.
Look similar?

Surprising I'd have thought Edwards would be leading amongst Blacks especially in GA... this is good i have been worried about how firm Kerry's support is amongst minorities... but this and other events is reassuring me that the Democratic leaning minorities are energised we'll sure need them come November... but i do worry about Bush's inroads into Hispanic voters...but that seems to be a "bush policy" rather than a "republican policy"

I made exactly the same observation under Dave Liep's Georgia Primary post.  Nice to know that when a Republican makes this observation, nobody gives a sheet.  If all dems are as slow as this crowd is to draw such obvious conclusions, I think the GOP will do just fine.

Sorry Ben.  My analyst says I'm sarcastic and impatient.  I'm working on that.  I think I understand your point about minorities and I agree with it.  I am just a little frustrated that both parties are so blatantly patronizing toward them, like they're less "american" or something.  Oh, I suppose it's better than suppressing them, like the French do.   Wink

African-Americans, especially in the South are more partisan democrats, hence they vote for Kerry.

Did you repeat your French sentence to give it more weight? Smiley Thanks, one has to know at least one foreign language fairly well if one's native tounge is spoken by less than 10 million people... Wink

realpolitik if you don't get out here and correct that grammar, I will.  I swear it's driving me nuts.

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

I can't attempt to correct that as it reads so strange and un-French I can't figure out what it means...
I didn't see yr post, Angus, things in this terrible part of the Forum get washed away so quickly...
Did you also post a map?

no.  sorry.  Your post was spot on target, Lewis.

As an aside, this is one potential problem with the GOP.  That everyone is a demographic, rather than an individual.

I started taking English at the age of 9, French and Latin when I was 12 and German this year. Apart from the Latin and German, this is how it is for most students in Sweden.

One positive about having Kerry be the nominee instead of Dean is that there will likely be a higher minority turnout.

Kerry could approach 93% of the black vote.
