I was using "well-intentioned extremist" before I even saw TV Tropes.  I certainly have started using Fridge Logic and Anvilicious, and I think in terms of a lot of the other ones.  I'm really big on their character archetypes.  I recently read Conspiriata, the second volume in Robert Harris' three-part novel trilogy about Cicero, and I found that I was thinking of P. Clodius Pulcher as Caesar's Starscream.  Clodius also met "Laughing Mad," which was appropriate because he reminded me of the Trope Namer in more than one way.

Catilina came across as, sadly, a "Complete Monster," which is a shame because he's a very complex character in some hands.

I used "Moral Event Horizon" in an outline for an essay about Macbeth yesterday.

I never got an answer to this question before, but why is that website apparently so addictive/informative/whatever?  I've been there a few times and don't understand the appeal.

It's standard Wiki Walk.  You start on one big page and could end up with a half-dozen new tabs, which in turn leads to three more tabs on one of the other pages, etc.

I'd rather wiki walk (first time I've heard that phrase) on other sites.

Or windows, if you use IE6 like I do.

Shocked

What, do you also have AOL on a dial-up modem on a Windows ME computer or something?

"Incorporated" may be pushing it, but I've certainly used Fridge Logic, Fridge Brilliance, You Fail X Forever, IKEA Erotica, The Department of Redundancy Department.
And A-Team Firing. I think that's the one I've used most of all, actually.

Yes. It didn't happen to me the first or second time, either.

Forgot Wall Banger, though that term was commonly used pre-TVTropes.

"You fail ___ forever," "___ does not work that way," "Crowning Moment of Awesome," "Department of Redundancy Department," the Xanatos stuff, and a few others I can't think of right now.

I've also said Department of Redundancy Department in the work chatroom too.

The Xanatos ones are actually misunderstood, the initial idea behind a Xanatos Gambit was a plan where the person appears to fail as part of the plan but the plan is actually forwarded by it. Instead that's become anything along the lines of "A brilliant and well thought out plan." Still good to use though.
