So there are 60 HPs in the Senate currently. Reassuring.

Imagine that...

People, can we stop acting surprised now?  Obama is not a progressive in any sense of the word, and certainly not in regards to foreign policy and national security. The Patriot Act isn't going anywhere for a very long time.

They're not exactly equal Libertas, but in many areas there is hardly a noticeable difference, that's for sure.

I just find it funny how there was none of those over-the-top rants on the floor in Congress about it.  So much for outrage from the left in Congress.

Yup. 2008 was the best opportunity to elect a progressive in 32 years, and it was wasted on some useless moderate hero. Obama was a major mistake. Not that the other top-tier primary candidates were any better. Carter was a conservative Democrat challenged from the left by Ted Kennedy, when he was President, and now he'd be too liberal to get the nomination. American politics is garbage.

Would Hillary have been a more useful moderate hero?

People actually expected him to veto it? If so, you all are more delusional than I expected.

I never thought I'd say this, but I've really been pining for the days of the Clinton Administration lately. Perhaps it was youthful ignorance, but he just didn't seem to be as much of an authoritarian as Bush or Obama.

To be fair, it was "easier" then.  On the other hand, it can be argued that it is "harder" now because of the acts of our last two Presidents.

This is absolutely disgusting. This administration needs overthrown immediately. Anyone who actually thinks at this point that Obama is superior to Bush is retarded, literally, and Bush was awful to the millionth power to begin with.

Thank Bush for the Patriot Act, and thank him for ramming it up Congress' ass so many times everytime they balked at any of it.
