I'm probably going to make a timeline of this...

Suppose Secretary of War Robert Todd Lincoln was elected to the U.S. Senate in Illinois in 1888.  In 1892, he runs for President as a Republican against Grover Cleveland.  You can pick the Vice President.

Also, what do you think of the idea for a timeline?  Maybe starting after Lincoln Sr.'s assassination, all the way to the White House?

Does Harrison decline to run for reelection, or does Lincoln jsut defeat him at the convention?

In any case, Cleveland still narrowly wins.

Cleveland-226 EV
Lincoln-208 EV
Weaver-10 EV

I think doing a TL on this would be a good idea. I suggest using this map except giving IN to Lincoln for the 1892 election. That should give Lincoln the win.

Good to hear. I'll be looking forward to it. Some advice: In the 1892 election, talk about how Lincoln distances himself from some of the more controversial policies of the Harrison administration. BTW, I look forward to reading about how Lincoln handles the Panic of 1893 and the resulting economic depression.
