President Henry Wallace/Senator Claude Pepper (D)

Senator Robert Taft/Senator Styles Bridges (R)

Douglas MacArthur/Governor Strom Thurmond (I)

MacArthur says Taft's isolationism will stop him from ending international communism.

And also, a little background would be nice.

Wallace stays FDR's VP, FDR dies, Wallace is now President.

Was MacArthur pro-civil rights back then?

Because MacArthur was a Taft-supporter, and if anything, probably would have been Taft's running mate.

Anyway, Taft would dominate this race. An open communist radical who supported the Soviet Union was not electable. There's a reason even FDR had to remove that lead balloon from his ticket before it sunk him.

I agree with this map. Also Wallace's Dear Guru letters would become a huge and massively embarrassing campaign issue.
