Will the GOP follow the precedent of choosing the person whose "turn it is" to run for president?

And also who do you believe will be the nominee?

Tim Pawlenty

It's definitely not his "turn."

Yes. In my honest opinion, it will be Romney.

Palin will win easily in my opinion if Huckabee doesn't run.

Sarah Palin, and it's not because I'm her #1 fan.

Yes, and it will be Sarah Palin -the one nationally-known politician best suited to take advantage of the Tea Party Movement and direct it to her needs.

I will be looking forward to seeing her give her acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention....

Where can she use the Tea Party Movement to her advantage besides the South? Her involvement with that, plus her decision to be a correspondent for FOX, and many other things aren't going to get her very far. Especially in a General Election.

If the field basically boils down to Romney, Pawlenty, Johnson, Santorum, Barbour, Palin, Gingrich, Pence and Huckabee(the people who have shown an interest in running), then I don't see Romney not winning.

I believe, however, that if Thune runs then Thune wins the primaries easily. He's an evangelical who can mop up that vote, but doesn't have that evangelical-ness that scares away the non-evangelicals. He doesn't have the baggage of Santorum(a man I actually respect a great deal) or Gingrich, isn't a moron like Palin, has far more personality and charm than Pence or Pawlenty, and fits the party more than Johnson(understatement).

Oh and guys, people pick candidates whom they don't find creepy and boring, which is exactly the vibe I get from Johnson. Those who do vote on substance, even if they like Johnson's positions, probably wonder what he's been doing for 10 years since he left public office, and just exactly what the hell did he accomplish?

Hopefully Thune.  If not him, then Mike Pence. (Of those being mentioned widely.)  I would still love to see some other names in the mix like Jeff Sessions or Tom Coburn.

I don't think Palin is part of the GOP leadership, so they'll be actively trying to prevent her from winning.  If its someone's turn or party favorite, it would be Barbour or Thune.  I don't think Romney has the gravitas to win the primaries.

It isn't Mitt Romney's "turn", and I don't expect him to be the nominee either.

[Waiting for a Romney hack to attack me for saying it's not Romney's turn]
