He was a 19th Century theologian and creator of the "Calvinism" theology that dismisses the idea of free will and really hones in on predestination and the "election" of the saints who will go to heaven.

Personally, I will vote FF, though I don't agree with his doctrine in full.  I follow some of his theology, such as the TULIP doctrine, but I believe there is free will.

FF. Despite disagreeing with him on many things, I think that the fact that Calvinism encouraged hard work (to demonstrate that God chose you to go to Heaven) was a good thing since many Calvinist countries (the Netherlands, Switzerland, etc.) became some of the most prosperous in Europe soon afterwards.

I find more cause with Arminius and Wesley if we're talking theology.

This.  The logical result of theocracy, which always ends with murder and blood.  Make no mistake.  Calvin was a soaring intellect and no theological bookshelf is complete without his work which, at times, could actually be quite inspiring and even tender.

I could actually be quite at home with four of his five points.  But he lost me completely with "limited atonement".  In any regard, HP.

Calvin was undoubtedly a terrible person, but his idea of predestination is fascinating from a theological and philosophical viewpoint.
