Inks.LWC walks up to the podium in a mysterious building in downtown Peter's Park.

Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for coming today.  I have a very important announcement that I am excited to make.  After much consideration and debate over the past couple months, I have decided to run for President.  I feel that my experience as a legislator, judge and Governor of the Mideast gives me the experience that I will need to successfully serve the people of Atlasia as President.

Over the past year, I have governed the Mideast region with a moderate conservative ideology.  I have been willing to both compromise as well as work across party aisles, and I promise to bring this same willingness with me if I am elected President.

I am pleased to announce that I have the backing of the RPP/PCP, and I look forward to gaining the support of people from across the political spectrum.

More announcements will come in the coming days and weeks.

I will take any questions now.

Inks, I've always had very high respect for you, and depending on your platform, you might be my second preference. Smiley

Right after a defeat ? Would seem quite original in real life.

From defeat springs new life, in Inks' case.

He was thinking about running way before he lost the governors race, if I read the OP right.

He'd be laughed at in real life Tongue

However, different rules apply here. Good luck Inks, I no longer will have to slit my wrists on voting day Tongue

It is amusing how Atlasia operates. We do sometimes have an attitude of rewarding failure. Tongue I was made Attorney General after I was rejected by the electorate in my first run for the Senate, and Lief was elected President only a couple months after losing re-election to the Senate.

Good luck!

I think you'd do a good job as president, if elected.

You will have a strong second preference from me. It's a shame you keep ending up in races where I can't vote for you. Sad

And for all those saying Inks "lost" the last election, I recall him being elected to the Assembly with a strong first round win.

Jacques Chirac doesn't agree with you, Antonio...

BTW, as an independent, I heartily endorse Inks, who will receive my first preference vote.

He was a great Governor, he'll be a great president.

Goooood. Nice and calm now.

See Vepres? There's nothing stopping PS from voting for Inks. Though I'm sure he wouldn't risk a "shot in the dark" like that. Right ol' pal?

Sadly, Badger's joke is actually an adequate summation of where we stand today in Atlasia.

That's how the song is spelled?  It looks so weird in writing - I don't think I've ever seen the name written.
