He's gotta win the primary.  Otherwise I think this seat flips.

You mean all five [I think] of the people on the GOP side contending for the open seat?  I suspect he'll be able to win the plurality here even if he's caught with a dead boy hooker.

What are Gerlach's chances for re-election? I assume he can win forever if he survived 06 and 08.

He'll never be safe, given the district's partisan lean, but 2010 will probably be his easiest election yet.

2008 was the year to take him out.  The DCCC sat this one out and I don't know why considering Obama massacred McCain in the district and a no-name almost beat Gerlach anyway.
