Curt Schroeder has indicated he won't step aside if Gerlach runs back to PA-06.

I wouldn't consider this bloody or bad. Hopefully he will run for re-election.

I'm sure you're not the only one in the Republican Party hoping he does so. I'd like to see a poll for PA-6 with hypothetical general election matchups including both Gerlach & Schroeder.

How about he retires or becomes a lobbyist? Pennsylvania could always use another lobbyist getting it money and protecting its interests. Or, how about Gerlach moves to PA-11 and challenges Kanjorski?

He had no chance of winning the nomination and honestly, I thought his performance last year was pathetic, to say the least.

He could always drop down to Lt. Governor. Maybe then he'd have a shot at winning the primary.

Maybe. However there already all Phill suburb candidates runing so his candidacy could just split that vote and elect some else, damaging the GOP chances by putting two westerners on the ticket.

No it doesn't.  Nobody votes for the governor based on who the Lt. Governor candidate is.  They could live right next door to each other and it wouldn't make any difference.

Maybe in SC, but not in PA. I used to argue this point with Keystone Phil. Suburban Philly is trending Dem and Corbet only barely won it in 2008 Atty Gen race. The margin can be explained by suburban voters tough on crime stance, which has never let the Dems get Atty Gen of PA while it has been an elected office. So the last thing the PA Republican Party needs, is Pittsburg area candidate for Governor and Western/Central candidate Lt. Gov. Especially when the GOP Senate candidate is Pat Toomey from the Lehigh Valley.
