People from all over the country and on both sides of the aisle have been giving him Hell recently for one reason or another. So I was sort of curious as to what others think of him. If I could trade him for our former senator, Chuck Hagel, I would do so in a heartbeat. I know we need pragmatic centrists in the Senate and compromise is often essential. But I feel that Nelson helped strip out most meaningful measures of reform and the kickback he got for supporting that bill didn't set well with me. So right now my opinion of him is pretty low, although it is higher than my opinion of my other senator (Johanns).

Not a fan. I was disappointed that he immediately decided to support the health care bill because Nebraska got an extra-special deal out of it.

Yup, the previous occupant of the seat was a Democrat who survived the 1994 election and then preceded to be one of only 13 votes against DOMA. The best we can do argument is crap.
