Could go either way, but I think McCarthy narrowly wins since people were upset with the continuing war in Korea and were very afraid of Communist infiltration. Even though the economy was good, foreign affairs outweighs it in most people's mind and thus McCarthy narrowly defeats Stevenson.

Stevenson/McCarthy.

With the 2nd Red Scare at its pinnacle in the early 50's, McCarthy would win.
