You better announce you are running for re-election. Because if you dont, hell will come down on you with the fury of one thousand masterbating teens.

There will be a slight delay in the announcement. The senator is taking law school exams today, and will hopefully make his announcement tonight. He apologizes to The People for his delay.

Will you pass your law exam with flying colors?

Will you pass your law exam with flying colors?

You have no way of knowing with them. It's based on curves and the like, so I will not know a thing until mid January.

It could be worse. You'll end up taking the Bar Exam, which I know took six months to get the results of back in 1974. It's probably somewhat faster today.

One good thing about going to a Wisconsin law school...no bar exam.

I can't commit to involvement in such a thing.

Well everyone, the time has come for this all important announcement before I hit the grind on my civil procedure outline in preparation for my exam on Friday. I have been hinting at this for some time, but with elections forthcoming, I need to make it official. I am not seeking reelection to  the senate. I know, what will everyone do without me? It's been two years to this election that I first made it into the senate, and I somehow have managed to get reelected over and over again. But I felt it was time to give some new people a chance to serve, and I am fully confident that Junkie and TJ will fill my shoes nicely when the new session meets in January. I just hope they remember the importance of communication, especially with the voters. That is my only advice.

This announcement is bittersweet. When I made this conscious decision a few weeks ago, I thought back on my time in the senate. I thought back to the elections that I won and lost. The legislative successes and failures. I will miss those I have worked with over the years, especially Yankee and Marokai. I think everything we managed to accomplish (and still are, as some of Marokai and I's bills will remain in debate after I leave) is good for the game, and I hope going forward, that can continue to be the trend. I look forward to following the discussion and reform talks going forward, this time as a private citizen and not someone in government.

I do not know what I will do in relation to Atlasia now. I have entertained running for IDS legislature in the future, and I certainly want to write for The People's Paper and give back to The People for the two years they gave me. I also want to have a hand in the future of the RPP or whatever happens with the dissolve debate. I will not sit here and say this is it forever, because we all know how difficult it is to kick the habit of Atlasia. But for now, I will join the legions of retirees.

In closing, I want to again thank all my supporters and friends from all sides of the isle through the years. I have enjoyed it, and if you ever need anything, I am still going to be around, albeit in a much quieter fashion. I wish my successors the best of luck.

Duke

P.S. Donations are still more than welcome to DukePAC. The money will go to good causes, I promise, and if I ever do run for office again, I will gladly take advantage of everyone's kindness.

Maybe we both can become Lt. Governors?Huh How fun would that be? And we wouldn't have any responsibilities!

I'm making this statement purely for my supporters and not for those who will take issue with me regardless of what I do. A week and a half ago, my girlfriend of two years and I broke up. Needless to say, I had a crappy holiday and have been doing a lot of soul searching recently during our period of no contact. Atlasia has been the furthest thing from my mind. Granted, it is no excuse for my inactivity but I thought I would let those interested know my situation. It looks like I picked a good time to retire after all.

So sorry to hear this...real life comes first. Your inactivity in a game is minuscule compared to what you're going through. Best wishes.
