Missouri, Kentucky, Alabama, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts are probably my least favorite states. I'd give New York an honorable mention because, although I like visiting NYC, I find most of the New Yorkers(from the city and upstate) to be fairly obnoxious.

Probably North Dakota. It is flat, cold (except when it is very hot in the summer) and empty and quite far away from where I might want to go. Most states that suck at least have some tolerable areas to live, such as in Alambama across the bay from Mobile, and Mississippi along parts of the cost, and Florida has a few tolerable spots, and Texas has Austin, and so on. ND has nothing.
