http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/10/19/robertson.bush.iraq/index.html

Does this cause anybody currently supporting Bush or the Iraq War to support Bush less? Support the Iraq War less?

Is Bush making faith-based policy? Or reality-based policy?

Robertson: I warned Bush on Iraq casualties

NEW YORK (CNN) -- The founder of the U.S. Christian Coalition said Tuesday he told President George W. Bush before the invasion of Iraq that he should prepare Americans for the likelihood of casualties, but the president told him, "We're not going to have any casualties."

No effect.

1. I'm not supporting Bush.
2. I don't know if this is true. If it does, Bush is a) over confident or b) lying. Bush may well have wanted to project confidence.
3. It doesn't affect the rest of the Iraq argument one iota.
4. If you read the rest of the article, it shows Robertson still supports Bush.
5. Why is this coming out now not 18 months ago?
6. Most people were prepared for casualties anyway.

What if Bush believes the following?

To him our soldiers are going to heaven and living eternally so by that logic there are no casualties. Much like bin laden tells his followers that they won't die but go to paradise instead.--Dreggas

Does he? That's some wild speculation.

Bush was probably slightly over-confident, as was most of the administration over this.

Your threads about total crap is cluttering the boards.  You're the second coming of Noreplies.  No one wants to hear your blatantly partisan crap.

John kerry said his favorite red sox was Manny Ortez.  He said he loved Lambert Field.  I can personally attack the guy but i'm not going to waste space on a public board.

CollectiveTroll,

Robertson said himself he may have misheard the president. I for one do not believe any person would believe a war would produce no casualties.

Why would Bush have said there wouldn't be any deaths when there were already deaths in Afghanistan?  Robertson is either hearing things (other from God) or making them up.  Either way, anyone who claims "God told me...." automatically becomes tuned out in my mind.

blatantly partisan crap?? What a freakin hypocrit!! Your very handle is partisan.  Stop wasting space on a public board with your pottymouth name calling. This is just like you Republicans- accuse the other side of doing exactly what you are doing yourself- spreading fear, name calling, being a single issue candidate.

So sorry you're not capable of elevating the debate- accusing others of not elevating the debate and trying to shut them up doesn't make you a better Republican.

"I don't like what you said- so shut up you [insert favorite insult you heard on the bus]." Geez how old are you??

Isn't it funny how liberal Dems suddenly want to spread and believe what Robertson is saying?

It would depend on what Bush hears.  Would either of you like to support your claim?

T'is a sad day when the big story of the news cycle is Democrats using the words of the extreme republican right against the conservative republican right.

Yeah, because I spread total crap.  Its fine CI wants to say something, but to post numerous times on stupid subjects makes him a fool.

CI is just like nomorelies.  He posts threads and doesn't answer them and then goes off and posts more threads.  He is blinded by a visceral hatred for Bush and wants to do anything to make him look bad.

Also, since when am I spreading fear or being a single issue candidate.  I'm telling him to stop posting crap.
