It's amusing that a self-described libertarian would voted for that party.

US: Democrats as the least-worst and the non-insane option (most of the time)
UK: dislike all 3 major national parties, probably like Labour most. SNP, PC and SDLP obviously outside England, though.
France: hate all major parties, probably dislike the Greens least.
Germany: Greenies only
Italy: PD or IDV. Basically, anything which isn't insane and anti-Berlusconi
Spain: PSOE. I'm far from a fan, but given the alternative, yeah. Fairly obviously, I support the PNV and BNG in their respective regions.
Catalunya: CiU
Israel: Kadima is probably the least worst of the major parties, and Meretz is probably the better of all the parties
South Korea: they're all awful, but the Democrats over the GNP
Japan: now, the non-Ozawa DPJ, but if Ozawa wins leadership, probably the JCP given that all others are awful
Canada: dislike 'em all to some extent, but Liberal if only to kick Harper out
Australia: Greens with preferences flowing to Labor
South Africa: DA
India: do parties actually matter much? While I probably wouldn't touch any of the parties in the BJP coalition, a lot would depend on the candidates. I suppose I have more sympathy with the INC/UPA than the right.
Poland: Napieralski-led SLD is good, though all parties are bad to awful
Chile: coalitions do matter more than actual parties, and I'm personally open to both coalitions. in terms of parties, likely the PRSD
Brazil: people still don't understand that all but like 3-4 of the serious parties are not jokes or fakes, no?. I like parts of both major 'coalitions' and equally dislike parts of these same coalitions, but I'd vote for Marina.
Denmark: Radikal Venstre
Netherlands: D66 or GroenLinks
Mexico: PAN is still the least bad, though they're all bad

Israel: Kadima
Australia: Greens (again in lack of a better option)
South Africa: Democratic Alliance
Netherlands: VVD

SCANDINAVIA IS IMPORTANT GUYS Tongue

Sweden: Center Party
Finland: Center Party

Nope. The party is nothing more than a personalist clan based around the Dear Leader, his friend(s) and neighbors. No ideology (except whining and attention-whoring) to speak of, no political strategy (that would require admitting that Dear Leader is wrong!) to speak of and a complete lack of direction (the little direction it had in 2008 has been 'usurped' by the Greenies). For you, probably like me, hating all parties but disliking the Greenies least.

and, yeah, Scandinavia is important and I don't know why I didn't do it:
Sweden: Center Party
Finland: Greens
Norway: Venstre/Liberals, which is probably one of the only parties in the world with which I have real affinity.
Iceland: Progressive Party or Left-Greens

US: Democratic
UK: Liberal Democrats. Although in Scotland, SNP.
France: Socialist (PS)
Germany: SPD
Italy: PD
Spain: PSOE
Israel: Gil Tongue No. Actually, Meretz or Labor
South Korea: DLP
Japan: SDP
Canada: NDP
Australia: Laura is hanging over me right now trying to make me type Labor. But I'd probably prefer Australian Democrats with Labor second.
South Africa: ANC
Poland: SLD
Sweden: Pirate Tongue
Denmark: Social Democrats
Netherlands: PVDA
Mexico: PRD

Canada - New Democrats
Greece - PASOK
Spain - PSOE
Italy - Democratic Party

(Bump)

Mexico: Social Democratic and Peasant Alternative Party

Try again in Mexico. The Alternativa, most recently renamed PSD, lost its registration in 2009, having failed to obtain the requisite 2% on he congressional ballot.

UK: Labour, I could see myself voting for LibDem candidates fairly often though.
US: Democrats
Australia: Green, but I'd give Labor my preference.
France: Lean PS
Germany: The Greens
Mexico: No party, but lean PRD.
Canada: NDP
Israel: Hadash
Spain: PSOE
Sweden: Social Democrats
South Africa: DA
Netherlands: D66 or PvDA
New Zealand: Labour
Norway: Labour
Denmark: Social Democrats
Brazil: PT, I guess.
Japan: DPJ, reluctantly.

Updated version (not many changes, but still) :

USA : Democratic (Green if the Dem candidate is a Blue Dog, if Dems are too disappointng and/or if the election isn't close)
UK : Labour (LibDem prior to the infamous coalition)
France : PS (could vote green or MoDem occasionally)
Germany : Die Linke as a protest vote (SPD normally)
Italy : IdV, Radicals or some radical left stuff
Spain : PSOE
Israel : Meretz (Labour until recently)
Grece : PASOK
Sweden : Social Democrats
Poland : Democratic Left Alliance
Japan : DPJ
Canada : NDP (would be my pick overall, but if I'm in a constituency where the NDP cand has no chance to win I'd vote Liberal without hesitation)
Australia : Labour (maybe greens as 1st pref some times)
Brazil : Workers' Party

USA: Democratic Party
UK: Labour Party
France: PS

Spain: PSOE (actually, I am a member of the PSOE xD). People who like PP are fascists or idiots.

Australia: Labor Party
Brasil: PSDB until 2010. P-Sol now. I'd vote for candidates, never for candidates. But I support Plinio, so yes, P-Sol.

Mexico: anyone but PAN and PRI under current leadership

Hm.That leaves

A. Greens. A private concern for renting out votes for pay. Currently charged w/ doing dirty jobs for the PRI.

B. New Alliance. Same as the above, but currently on hire (w/ a likely purchase option) to the teacher's union.

C. PRD/PT/Convergencia. Bascially, national socialists. PRD is simply fascist, PT pretends to be a bit more Commie (they have the red flag w/ the hammer and that old agricultural implement that Commies use all over the world), Convergencia is of a rather indeterminate nature: sort of a sidekick to one or both of the other two. The main difference as of today is that the current PRD leadership hates AMLO, while PT and Convergencia count on him preserving their electoral register.

No other options at present. So, I guess, PRD is brown enough for you.

Convergencia seems like the least bad, but I'll admit to not understanding Mexican politics at all.

USA: Democrats or Greens if I can't stand the Democratic candidate.
UK: Labour  NI: SDLP
Germany: Die Linke/ SPD if they stand a chance of getting into government
France: PS (PCF or PRL if their candidate is Sego)
Italy: IdV (The italian left is one of the bigger jokes in european politics)
Spain: several of the nationalist parties sound attractive, but I don't really feel at ease in this environment so I'll stick with the PSOE
Australia: Labor
NZ: Labour
Canada: NDP
Israel: Hadash
Sweden: Socialdemokraterna (I'm not going to elaborate all of the scandinavian countries, the basic idea seems to be clear)
South Africa: DA
Netherlands: SP but I'd have tactically voted to make the PVDA biggest last time round.
Belgium: PVDA+/PTB+ or SP.a if it seems likely their performance will reach new depths or become too pathetic. Usually I split my vote.

Actually, no. I'd rather just spoil my ballot paper.

Convergencia seems like the least bad, but I'll admit to not understanding Mexican politics at all.

That's because the have no distinguishing features whatsoever. They exist as an appendage either to PRD or, in some cases, when PT goes alone, to PT. Occasionally, they get used as a vehicle for one or another politician to run alone at a local level, but that's rare. Really, they are just a ballot line.

In that case, I would be 100% independent in Mexico, voting for people based on issues and not giving a damn about what party they are.
