Like this

Cept I'd move to Ontario

This would give us 6 regions, and hence, 6 senators. We should also tie the number of additional (at-large) senators to the number of regions (make them equal) rather than specifying "5".

(Yes, all of this would require an amendment, but I say lets do it!)

Also a straw poll

Sounds pretty interesting. Maybe someone could look at the distribution of Canadian posters & figure what the population spread would be if Canada became the 6th region & all Canadian posters (& only them) registered there.

This isn't a horrible idea.

Keeping the regions like that doesn't make much sense though.

Problem is there is only 5 or 6 Canadian Atlasians. Would be a small region.

Originally I was going to redo the US states into 7 regions.

I also debated adding the UK as a 7th region.

I figured this was the easiest way to start, as well as build support for the idea of Reform in general *cough*and make me so popular everyone demands I become president and votes for me and loves me forever*cough*, sorry, swine flu, anyway, so adding a new region should be easier than amending the existing ones, so hopefully we can do this.

It's an intriguing idea; one I've pondered before.

However, I think we're finally getting to a good level of activity with our regions. I'm not sure Atlasia can possibly get more active than it is at the moment considering how heavily the parties have recruited. I suspect were somewhat maxed out in terms of players. I worry that adding a sixth region may dilute the regions somewhat.

For one thing, I think this would gain activity, especially amongst Canadians.

Secondly, regions cant do nothing, this would add 2 senators, which is huge. We should add more senators than that, but I'm saving that for another reform Tongue stay tuned

Can I be the first to say that this is a stupid idea? Annexing Canada? Why not just annex the entire world next, because apparently we can do anything in Fantasy-Land.

Have we ever actually had a member from Northwest Territories/Nunavut/Alberta/Saskatchewan/Manitoba join Atlasia?

I'm beginning to think Atlasia needs a serious check on our definition of "reform."

Here is my proposal for 6 regions within the current national boundaries of Atlasia.  I tried to even the population as much as possible.

Dark Green:  The Pacific
Dark Red:  The Southwest
Dark blue:  The Northwest
Light green:  The Deep South
Pink:  The Mideast
Light blue:  The Northeast

I know people will think.. "huh?  Michigan in the Northwest?"  At one point, Michigan was considered the northwest.  It's why people usually call Washington part of the "Pacific Northwest" because states like the Dakotas and Minnesota were originally "The Northwest".

Wouldn't this require each region to agree to this?

I like snowguy's proposal more than the annex canadia one.  But I think the proposed regions seem to give far too much representation to the Southeast/Southwest.  Isn't that an overrepresented area now?

The southwest would be scantly represented as far as Atlasians are concerned.  But I tried to balance the populations around the 50-55 million persons mark when dividing the regions.  The Northeast and Northwest are over on the numbers while the southeast, mideast, and southwest are a little under.  The west is right around the right amount.

I could support either proposal

Of course I'd prefer 7 regions.
