Do liberal men have a problem with women?

Serious question. I stumbled upon this article thing about how "liberal men" attack "independent conservative women" like Michelle Malkin, Anita Bryant, Michelle Bachmann, etc. Well, it was a cute read. But devoid of any serious discussion. So let's have one. What does everyone think?

You could just as easily harp on conservative "establishment" men and their disdain for liberal women.

Most men are afraid of 'strong' women for some reason......probably because they're insecure themselves.

My experience is that some liberal men and more conservative men both have a problem with liberal women.

Liberal men who have gone through divorce or are insecure have a problem with liberal women whenever the topic of feminism comes up, because they see it as a male vs female thing and take up their own side. Other than that however, no, liberal men do not have a problem with women. Just look at the success of Rachel Maddow, arguably the most popular liberal television personality. They'll go after women like Bachmann though because they're polarizing.

Conservative men have a problem with liberal women because they think all women should be conservative. Part of conservatism is the 'proper place of women' and liberalism is definitely not it. This is why, you'll generally see conservative men fret and fuss more about women and their political leanings. So they looove their conservative women, Palin, Bachmann, etc. because in their minds these are the 'correct' women. But they're only correct if they're also hot and fit on a calendar.

Liberals can make fun of conservative women because they (liberals) are so open minded that they don't see she is a woman, all the see is the ignorance of being conservative.  It doesn't matter if a conservative is black, a woman, an MIT grad or a piece of lawn furniture, the fact they are conservative means they are stupid and worthy to be made fun of.

Conservatives are not given the same luxury because they only see skin color and gender.  So even if a black lady is actually being an idiot a conservative may not point that out without being a racist bigot.

It doesn't matter what our own political leanings are, we all must remember liberals are our betters.

Any issues liberal men have with "independent conservative women" have more to do with the latter's politics and style than with gender. Also, many liberal women harp on conservative women such as Palin as well.

Though perhaps it might be slightly more disturbing to see strong conservative women since women have more first hand experience with injustices such as sexism.
