2. All current registered members of Atlasia will not be affected by this change.

As I've said countless times, this has to be a constitutional amendment.

But I'd support it, once it's changed to an amendment, if the rate was dropped to a month or two.

You're assuming people actually read your posts. Tongue

But if someone wants to find the relevant portions of the constitution that need to be changed then that would be a big help.

Try the 27th amendment or whatever the most recent one is. And don't run for Senate if you don't want to put in the work the job requires. Tongue

6 months is way, way too long.

I believe the intent here is to eliminate voters spamming their way to 50 posts, only to vote in one election and never be heard from again.  An admirable goal, but this bill will discourage many people from getting involved in Atlasia at all, ever, who would otherwise be good citizens and voters.  I want to increase our voter registrations, not decrease them.  I believe there is no effective anti-zombie legislation that will not do more harm to the game than good.

Well, I support tight regulations on new voters, but that is is way over the top.

I oppose 6 months, but yes, I support zombie reform and tight regulations. Therefore, I would wholeheartedly support a drop to 2 months, even one at worst. So, amendment offered:

1. A person is not eligible to become a registered member of Atlasia until they have been a member of the Atlas Forum proper for 2 months.

2. All current registered members of Atlasia will not be affected by this change.

Why don't you offer an amendment accordingly?

Just curious to see how long I'd have to complain about it before people started paying attention to anything around here. I shouldn't have to be the one to fix an obvious and stated error in a bill that isn't even mine.

I think a month would be a perfectly good compromise. 6 months is ridiculously long. There are some very good posters on Atlasia now that wouldn't be here if this law was implemented a year ago.

Perhaps 3 months, and 200 posts; time and numbers of posts should be required, I think.

Disgusting, horrible, etc.

Atlasia's turning into an old boys' club. It's interesting that it's the newer members who want it the most.

we agree oddly. I hate the idea of preventing people from joining our game. a 6 months requirement would mean that swedish cheese couldn't be here, I couldn't be here, etc. We'd still be having single digit elections.

Of course you oppose, how else would you get those 50 posts people to be a part of your machine?

And the 6 months is going to be changed, it was just a starting point.

I think all of the registering people at 50 posts is a joke, regardless of party. I would be in favor of a higher post requirement.

6 months is far too long and I'm not exactly sure what increasing the post requirement will do to solve anything. People who are trolling don't care about it, zombies will spam for it, and good members will suffer underneath it.

6 months is too long, but people should stop making an issue out of it since there's a only a tiny, tiny chance that the final bill, if even passed, would institute said 6-month period. And I would not vote for the current bill.

This bill will stint Atlasian population growth, probably decreasing Atlasian population numbers in the long term. Most Newbies won't want to wait six months to join Atlasia. We'd be stuck with the same old people playing the game, and Atlasia would become utterly... dull.
