What is your favorite US Election to research about? Mine is probably 1968.

Cuz I think it's hilarious that Mondale's best state was won with .18% margin and was his home state and Reagan neglected to campaign there. lol

Either 1932 or 1996 because FDR and Clinton made great Presidents and the Republicans had horrible candidates those years.

1980 was interesting to watch the Republican Party hitting it's stride with Reagan and the old conservative/populist Democratic Party collapsing.  Iran hostage crisis, nukes, the Soviets, gas prices, inflation, unemployment...there was alot on the table in that election and the one debate between Reagan and Carter was highly entertaining!

I love 1860 because of the deep regional splits & four candidates each winning EVs & breaking 10% nationwide. I wish elections with such radically distinct regional results occurred more often.

For the primaries, 2008 was a very good year Wink

1984 because it was the first I really followed...

Really, 1912, 1948 and 2000 were great ones.

The primaries in 2008 were epic, and I enjoy primaries more then the general election.

For the general, my favorite years are:

1824
1916
1920
1948
1968
1984 (Reagan Owned)
2004 (The first one I watched; If only I understood more)

1960's fascinating. Take a look at the map:

Does it remind you of anything? Of course not. 1964 and 1968 are also in that mold. 1896 also interests me, as it was the first election fought on economics. Ah, hell, I like all of them. Even 1984.

The only elections I'm not really interested in are 1804-1820, 1836-1856, 1868-1884, and 1980-1988.  I just find those elections boring.

1964, perhaps followed on by 1948 and 2008 in that order.

This election was the most interesting in the US-history, it gives only the wrong winner Wink
