Update:

I'm looking forward to the bill about the pornography age that will soon be on the Senate floor. It is my intention to attempt to amend it to completely eliminate the minimum age instead of changing it from 18 to 14. I am aware that some people (one senator in particular) won't be pleased with that idea, but I don't see anything that would make such a move irrational. I believe that restricting freedom can only be an option if there are legitimate negative consequences that are the result of certain behavior, such as banning smoking in public, due to the health risks imposed through second hand smoke.

I also wish to state that I completely oppose the current bill illegalizing abortion in Atlasia. I was at one point "pro-life", and indeed, I still find abortion to be a disgusting practice, but I no longer believe that it is in the best interest of Atlasians to criminalize it. We certainly need to work to reduce the number of abortions that take place, but I won't support such a draconian method.

My opinion of you has just gone down.

By the way, am I right in predicting that you will select a fellow Democratic Alliance member for running mate?

I find remarks like these very condescending. The amount of overall contempt our elected officials in all parties have been showing the mainstream electorate is particularly disgusting. The notion that we, as voters, are somehow beneath the people we elect is ridiculous.

I'm sure he does. But I doubt Franzl is looking for votes. The DA has no way to overcome the numbers of the JCP and RPP, even with the LNF at their side. And if the campaign was serious about winning, they'd have picked a different running mate, I'm certain.

Oh this is silly, Hamilton.

You get so close to getting some small inkling of respect from me and then you revert to your two-faced double-talking faux outrage and turn into a complete political machine, designed to manufacture scandal wherever you can find it. Please don't bring that nonsense here.

And if the campaign was serious about winning, they'd have picked a different running mate, I'm certain.

How were my statements in any way "two-faced" or "double-talking" or showing any form of "outrage", Marokai?

Franzl is quite clear where I stand on the matter.

Makes perfect sense to me. Condescending is PS's specialty. At least Franzl doesn't have the opportunistic streak PS has or rather had according to him. We shall see though.

Condescending? I've never gotten that from PS. He's one of the nicer people here (as is Franzl for that matter). I don't even get what Hamilton is complaining about. What would have been condescending is flipping flopping back and forth, changing your positions so that you can make everyone happy (which the RPP, constantly hiding under the guise of non-ideology hilariously attempts to do). Taking a stand and clarifying your position on issues shows not condescension for the voters but respect, as it shows an implicit understanding that the voters are intelligent and reasonable enough to make policy judgments and evaluate the different choices put in front of them.

Can someone please point out where any but Hamilton said the RPP is non-ideological?  The ideology is that the regions should decide everything and the members of our party support conservative causes

If the pick is truly Afleitch (which looks probable), Franzl is asking to lose this election in a landslide.  Just remember that AndrewCT would be president right now if he didn't pick that idiot as his VP

If you are trying to portray NC Yank as a flip-flopper for changing a couple votes in the Senate, then I don't know how you continue to function. He's been pretty solid the whole term with regards to his policy positions, and even so, the person who started this thread recently changed a position. Are you to say that anyone who decides that a certain alternative may be better to their previous way of thinking is a "flip-flopper"?
