Elaboration? 
There would simply be so much information and misinformation floating around about homosexuality that there is no way this candidate would make it past the primaries, and if they did, they would be crushed in the general election.
Can you imagine the questions about this person's private life that would come up during the campaign? Can you imagine the blogs that would be flooding the internet?
This candidacy would be doomed.
A gay person running for President is nothing like a gay person running for the House of Representatives in a gay friendly district you know.
