They are completely on the opposite sides of the Republican party.  Hagel pisses off the leadership and mavericks like McCain used to.  Santorum is a darling of the leadership and likely would become GOP senate leader (at least he'd have a good shot) if he wasn't dead in his reelection bid.

One minute you have Santorum coming back and then you say he's dead?

My favorite senator is, despite what most would guess, the charasmatic and modest senator from Illinois--

It's just strange that you mention them both as a few of your favorite senators when they're so radically different.

From www.speakout.com/votematch:

Total Score
Personal Score  0%
Economic Score  84%

I break party lines in the gun control area, Linking trade w/ China to human rights, and immigration/amnessty.  Personal score is that morals should be enforced by the govt--so I'm as conservative as they come there.

I think santorum is around 30% and 70%.  Hagel is around 40% and 70%.  I can't get exact #'s unless it matches me w/ them, but Hagel isn't running this year, and I had Santorum, but for some reason, can't get him to agree w/ me again, so if somebody really agrees w/ them, they could get you exact #'s.

Yeah how could you like a guy so against the war and another so for it that he makes up stories about finding WMDs? (Just curious).
