John Culver, one of the great pranksters in senate history.

Jim Abourezk's autobiography begins with Culver setting Jim's pant leg on fire while he's calling President Carter from a phone booth.

I may have asked this before, elsewhere on the forum.  But are any of you surprised Terry Branstad's star didn't rise any farther? I half-expected him to be a Presidential, Vice-Presidential or Senate candidate...if not a Cabinet secretary.
