I can't believe I'm saying this, but Georgia's run-off election would be *FUN* if it made the difference between 59 and 60 senate seats for the Democrats.  The GOP would win of course (Georgians don't want Democrats to rule the universe) and Lieberman would likely remove himself from the caucus even if the Democrats did get 60, but the Martin vs. Chambliss runoff race would the compression of national politics into a small post-election locality like we've never seen before.

I personally was not rooting for Franken (I may be 51% in favor of him winning, I haven't made up my mind), I've read his books and I think he's somewhat amusing, but I simply cannot envision in him working out the details of bills.

But as things look more and more like a 58-41-runoff senate composition, in the interests of the forum and our spectacle of our electoral process, I think it would be hilarious for dozens of millions of dollars to pour into Georgian political scene and for Franken to win.

Well, technically if you wanted more long-term Jewish representation in the senate, Coleman would be less likely to lose his reelection bid than Franken...
