I'm going to do something I don't ordinarily do: speculate.

In order for Palin to be effective, she has to come across as the "delightful woman" type of politician the way Condoloser Rice or even Laura Bush has up to this point. If she's some outspoken, opinionated loudmouth, well no one likes a bitch and she'll fall flat on her face. The content of her speech will be unimportant but how she presents herself will be.

I tend to agree somewhat.  She can NOT keep repeating "glass ceiling", she needs to relax, drop the attack dog approach we saw last Friday in Dayton, and talk with charm and knowledge of the issues.

I was pretty shocked by her attack dog persona last Friday, I thought it was a total waste of talent.  From the videos I've seen of her, Palin is NOT a loud mouth attack dog, rather she is sleek and nibble barracuda.

I didn't see too much attack dog on Friday, but I otherwise agree.

I do think "glass ceiling" will be mentioned.

I will admit, it is a bit disconcerting to see a Republican running for President or Vice President who is more Machiavellian than I am.

And Phil ^^^^^ this is the most disgusting part of that post. What if I said at Obamas speech if he was to strong he'd be a uppity negro who needs to go back where he belongs?

You know, you're sort of making my point for me. Don't you think if Palin gives that "strong willed speech" that there'll be a lot of people who have the same sentiments as you(heaven forbid)?

That's not my opinion. Obviously you completely missed where I was going with that post.

What time's the speech?

She's had 3 days of incredibly bad press after some crazy media buzz. No matter how much some people might try to convince themselves, this isn't exactly what McCain expected or needed.

I think she'll do fine, but it's hardly going to change anything.

On a side note, you have to question the thinking behind throwing Palin's executive experience at the Obama campaign when McCain himself has none. This election isn't about Palin and the McCain campaign will do well to remember that.

I know, J.J.  He never tells you to pay attention to something without a reason.  He's my friend and he can be enigmatic but he doesn't make up quotes.
