...I don't understand why the red avatars like this guy.

Uh...if you're serious...

They "like" him because they want him to stay in the race so that they can beat him in November. Nobody really likes Ted Stevens outside of Alaska. This is coming from a guy that loves his passion (though sometimes overdone) for drilling in ANWR.

*shrug* I wasn't really paying any attention to the race. From my perspective, it just makes things more interesting.

Anyone who thinks Stevens is done needs to look at Kentucky 2007. Plus Fletcher had a much more serious opponent than anyone facing Stevens. Not to mention Begich is a much stronger candidate than any of them as well...if Stevens had challengers the quality of the ones Don Young is facing, I'll admit there's a problem.

Regardless, one thing to consider, in 2002, Stevens, Young and Murkowski had represented Alaska my whole life (and of most on the forum.) In 2009, they will all likely be gone, and not just gone, but defeated, whether by a Republican or Democrat. That's something to put a smile on anyone's face, regardless of party.

After reviewing this, while what he did MAY be wrong it's certainly no worse then the things our other congress critters do all the time.

I want to know the intention of this "cover up" was it intentional? Or was it really accidental? I'd personally believe the former, but you never know really.

Yup; accidents can and do happen. Of course, most Alaskan politicians have "questionable dealings".
