Yes,

But I dont really ground my opinion in a "right," I think the government should provide it as part of their compensation (and partly as an incentive) for being (to be) in the armed forces...I guess in a sense, like a pension.

For Soliders, health care comes with your retirememt package. I'm not familar with all the benefits but it is full health care and 50% of your final 3 years of pay every month when you retire.

Check back with me in about 15 years and I'll tell you what I get!

Obviously not; if they're not being shot at anymore, what good are they? Tongue

It's the least we owe to them.

Nothing is too good for our troops, so we should give them nothing, Wink

Well, they should certainly provide it for current soldiers. Veterans should get it if they are disabled in the line of duty, and should receive some sort of health insurance for some period after their service so they have time to find a job and whatnot so they can get it elsewhere. Some sort of retirement care wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Other than the last part for finding a job after they PCS, those are in effect. The only problem is that disability pay has become rather cheap over the past few years. I know someone, who lost their eye, in Iraq, and they are only getting 20% disabilty.

No. If nobody else gets health care why should the elderly, the poor and veterans get it?
