I'm thinking a moderate Republican will end up winning the White House in 2008, despite Iraq's troubles.

liberal democrat...finally, American politics will be de-Southernized (and hopefully, Midwesternized)...we still need to figure out who that liberal is:  obama won't offer substance on economic/class issues, while edwards warmongers, and don't even start me on the rest

no such thing as a liberal republican...if they aren't for a progressive tax system, affirmative action, federally-funded universal healthcare, curbing the % of military spending (at least contracts, but raising veterans' benefits) and adoption of Kyoto--every single one of these things--they're not liberal

If the Republicans somehow manage to hold onto the White House after Bush's entire term, the Democrats deserve all of the losses they can get.

I'll say a liberal Democrat.

Of all the people running I think the person who would make this board happiest is Bill Richardson.  He's probably the candidate most acceptable to "the other side".

Frankly, there are no Conservative Democrats or Liberal Republicans running, so I'm not sure why those options are included.

Moderate Democrat.

Its a matter of perception.  I consider Guiliani to be a liberal Republican.  I don't see any conservative Democrats in the field, either, but i just included that incase other's may perceive conservative Democrats that are in the race.

Given the two most likely Republican Nominees (Giuliani and McCain) both have wider appeal and are more electable, I see a moderate-liberal Republican winning.
