About two years ago, I conducted a poll concerning the most despised U.S. state.
Florida emerged the clear winner (or rather, the clear loser, respectively), even if you view Mississippi and Alabama as one.
When do you think was the last time Florida wouldn't have surpassed the Southern twins in their public disapprobation?
Was the act of deterioration from America's sunny vacation state into its unpleasant appendix a slow process, or was it rather the result of a sudden big bang?

Most despised by forum, or general public?  If the latter, we don’t even know if Florida is most despised, so no point asking this.  If the former, this might be better question for Forum Community board.

Florida is disliked on this board because most people here are terminally online liberals. Back in 2019, DeSantis wasn't so much of a liberal bete noire, so I'd guess then.

Among Liberals(especially online) I would say around 2019 after Nelson/Gillum were defeated and Beto gave them hope in Texas. Before that the state they hated the most was Texas by far and if you think Florida is hated by liberal today, its nothing compared to how hated Texas was until like 2017.

Maybe you're right. Florida being unpopular nationwide just didn't seem quite absurd to me as I have always associated that state with educationally alienated and anti-social people thanks to the movies and TV series I watched as a kid. Plus, I've heard it so often that Floridians are said to be the worst car drivers among all Americans. Even people from Florida claimed that. Thus, I thought there was already a certain tendency for the state and its people to become even less and less popular.
