For example, I very much like and agree with his short dissenting opinion in Lawrence v. Texas,

Sorry, you what

Spare us the faux outrage. Mark's made very clear in his posts that he thinks the Supreme Court has massively overstepped its legitimate powers and is writing law from the bench in many, many cases where it has no right to do so. He's gay himself and has supported the repeal of sodomy laws since long before Lawrence IIRC. He just thinks it should be done through the legislative process, not the courts. There's a reason he's so fixated on the 14th amendment. Certainly an idiosyncratic position, but there are much weirder idiosyncracies on this forum.

Me and a few lawyer friends still use "uncommonly silly" to describe laws we hate that are nonetheless constitution.

Absolutely, completely terrible... maybe objectively the worst justice... but at least he's very interesting about it, as opposed to, say, a company man like Alito or a complete douchebag like Gorsuch.
