No. He could have been an FF by leaking very negative things about US foreign policy, but after 2010 he allied with Vladimir Putin’s Russia and started not to divulge negative leaks from the Putin’s government’s claims of global domination and mainly because he conspired to put Donald Trump in the White House with the leaks in Hillary Clinton’s emails. Although, as a Brazilian I like Sanders and I’m not very enthusiastic about Hillary as a person, I can’t deny that his decision to interfere in the 2016 elections was catastrophic, and Hillary was hampered by Assange’s negative interference against her.

Then, with all the freaks of the Trump’s administration along with Covid and the attempted coup d’état of 6 January now, he’s directly responsible for everything bad in US politics from 2017 to 2021. So, he is today a massive HP who deserves be punished in his UK prison, if necessary, for the damage he has done to the US and the world.

Yes. Who he supposedly "aligns" himself politically is not at all relevant to the act of barbarism that his imprisonment represents & the acts of barbarism that Wikileaks exposed. I wonder how people would be voting in this poll if they had lost a close relative in (to name a particularly heinous act, even if it’s only one of many), say, the July 12, 2007, Baghdad airstrikes. I’m convinced that anyone who condemns for Assange for that even after seeing some of that footage is probably pretty close to a psychopath.

The near-unanimous "progressive" opposition to this is, as always, very telling.

He and Trump are both Russian intel assets who colluded with Russia to sow discord in the US and the West.

Not especially relevant given that these charges are no longer being pursued.

I wasn't in the grand jury room, but if they think he should face charges in the US, then who am I to second guess them?

If foreigners want to commit espionage against the United States, that's their prerogative. They don't owe us any loyalty. But they shouldn't be surprised if the US responds to such attacks with legal action, when possible. Especially if they're gonna be hanging out in US-friendly countries that will respond to extradition requests.

Yes, you don't have to like him or even think he's a good person for this to be the case.

One thing I don’t get about the “Assange is working for Putin” crowd is why would Assange do that when he has literally nothing to gain? He was still stuck in an embassy even after 2016, and is now in prison
