Key West is extremely expensive (for the same obvious reasons that Honolulu and Manhattan are), so it comes down to whether or not I could afford to live there in this hypothetical scenario. If I have to relocate with the same income I have today, it's Jeff City all the way, baby.

For vacationing, I would obviously choose Key West.  Beyond its obvious quirky charm, it probably has a much better restaurant/theater/shopping scene than the Columbia/Jeff City area.

For living, though, I look at it like a typical Midwestern suburbanite.  I want to live somewhere where I can visit a library without having to plan ahead where I'm going to park.
