Yes but not until after Midterms, he doesn't want to blow up the Senate and get rid of Fillibuster until 2023, meanwhile most people are already on Medicaid being low income on being on Unemployment or part time hrs of work qualifies you for Medicaid

Optimistically saying yes. If it happens at all only be during his first term though and before the 22 midterms

I want to believe. Maybe if the midterms go exceptionally well and we hold all incumbent D seats + flip PA/WI/NC we'll have a little more wiggle room.

Yes, I'm still 100% confident in what all the signs are pointing to as of yet: that it'll be the FY2023 reconciliation package that Congress passes before the midterms next year.

Yes, I think it will be done under next year’s budget reconciliation.

Who cares?  The amount of political capital and time spent on a public option is not worth the ROI.  A public option will barely make a dent in fixing our healthcare cost problem, caused by the outrageous charges levied by the healthcare providers themselves.

The question shouldn't be "how do we pay for this?" or "who pays it?".  It needs to be "why are we paying this amount?"

Presumably the millions still unable to access health-care in the status quo who'd be able to with a public option, especially when said public option would see the government set its payment rates for providers & offer income-based financial assistance for premiums & cost sharing with no premiums for those with incomes below the poverty level?

Jesus.

They, along with everybody else, would be far better off with a real solution to the healthcare crisis rather than this uninspiring band aid.  But sure, let's kick the can down the road for another decade or two, and let the billionaires keep making their billions in what we apparently are accepting to call an "industry".
