I'll also say that I don't really need to project my insecurities onto anyone else. Pretty happy to own them honestly. PM me if you want to know more. However, the fact that Sanchez thinks one of them is about my not being manly enough makes me blush. I workout so I can proudly have more sex with guys. I somehow doubt that meets your criteria for manliness, though afleitch has penned some pretty interesting posts on the topic so maybe we're all wrong. Cheesy

Anyhow, like I said: "not insignificant." Fragile masculinity is not the same as insecurity. Fragile masculinity is about taking your insecurities around "masculine performance" and overcompensating in a way that has deleterious effects on others (typically those others are people who already make for easy targets). With all that in mind, if you folks want to pretend you don't know exactly the type of gym rat I'm talking about, then that's your prerogative to pretend to be stupid. It is not all gym-goers and I am not "equating" working out with fragile masculinity.
I’m not questioning your manhood, I’m questioning your general stability.

If you wanted to try to *approach an answer (even though the premise of the question is questionable) I would say it might have something to do with working out/physical capacity being a big part of blue collar/LEO/military culture, and these fields largely leaning right in aggregate.

YOU are questioning the stability of others? Lol. Didn't you get a blood-lust hard-on harassing "fake news" CNN at a Trump rally? I'm possibly mixing up users here, sorry if that wasn't you. Either way, Trump supporters in 2020 questioning the mental stability of others makes me chuckle.

There is a high correlation between fragile masculinity and Trumpism. There is a not insignificant correlation between fragile masculinity and “gainz.” It’s bound to happen.

Imagine being pathetic enough to equate young males caring about their health to “fragile masculinity”. My cope alarm is going off...

Also, not surprised at all that S019 and Progressive Pessimist recommended this lol.

Firefighters, I would add this in there as well.

Staying in shape is bipartisan, there is nothing about going to the gym that says anything about your political leanings.

However I do believe an overemphasis on having enormous muscles (regardless of actual health) and fake tan skin correlates highly with the GOP.

Yes, Italians and Irish that represent the Northeast GOP, police, firefighters, etc. Basically, Biden's old base.

The real answer is that liberal-minded people who like to work out are now doing it at home, but conservative-minded people who work out are anti-lockdown and are more likely to want to go back to the gym.

If you go back to February, I bet you'd see a much more evenly split partisan breakdown at any given gym.

If that's true, Biden should lock this race up by abusing synthol.

This is true as well. See Peloton

Atilis Gym has real Americans pumping iron.

Chris Cuomo's basement has a roided up poser who goes out and screams at people after they confront him for breaking quarantine when he has the Coronovirus.

Working out does cross the political spectrum, yes.

It's more of an indirect correlation than a causation.

Steroid use is most prevalent among weightlifting males in their 20s/30s: https://www.drugabuse.gov/publications/research-reports/steroids-other-appearance-performance-enhancing-drugs-apeds/who-uses-anabolic-steroids

And weightlifters are more likely to be conservative: https://www.vice.com/en/article/j5e3z7/gym-bros-more-likely-to-be-right-wing-assholes-science-confirms
