McCain would win, but your VP choices are decidedly unrealistic.

Gore is the man. Unfortunate that you stuck him with Hill.

McCain/Bush would be victorious, by a close margin in both the popular and electoral votes.

I'd easily vote Gore, but McCain would win by about 6 points or so.

An easy win for McCain/Bush.

John McCain is acceptable to most voters and Jeb Bush is an asset.

Al Gore is yesterday's man, and Hillary Clinton is simply too controversial and unacceptable to a great percentage of voters.

John McCain/Jeb Bush            356  53%
Al Gore/Hillary Clinton             182  47%

A previous loser with no campaign ability, and little personality matched with a crybaby socialist that has not yet explained how exactly she could pay for the socialism she offers.

or...

A corrupt psuedo moderate conservative matched with the brother of one of the worst presidents in US history.

I'll vote Libertarian.

Gore wins easily in the current climate of severe Republican fatigue and regret over the Bush debacle presidency.  McCain is an old has-been who has been overrated for decades.  And, by the way, he could never win a Republican primary anyway.. unless by some strange chance the base didn't show up to vote in it.

Not good.

Eco-weenie and the Hildabeast vs. Media Whore and the brother of an unpopular president.

Who are the Libertarian and Constitution party candidates? If either runs someone sane, they'd get my vote.

Prediction: McCain wins. No way Gore pulls a Nixon.

I'm getting sick of Al Gore scenarios...but I'll humor you.

Gore and Clinton have abnormally low approval ratings for Democrats. Hillary has no base and Gore-on ruined his image with the endless chain of recounts he demanded. McCain is continually becoming unpopular among conservatives and well...Jeb Bush should be a gimme as to why he isn't a great candidate either.

Gore will spend most of his time dealing with questions about the outcome of the 2000 election and trying to shake off his repuatation as a crybaby.  Hillary will spend most of her time in New York trying to convince people that she is both for and against the war and that she believes in openly secure borders. McCain and Brother Bush will run an endless slew of campaign ads against Gore. Nothing new if you are familiar with Republican politics.

The  Libertarians will put forth Aaron Russo who is seen as little more than a bitter conspirator and will not garner much support. The Constitution Party will nominate Chuck Baldwin after Gilchrist and Peroutka both decide against running; he also doesn't establish a following in the election either. Finally, the Green Party will nominate Pat LaMarche, 04' VP candidate and 06' candidate for Governor of Maine. She will have the largest effect on the race.

In the end, McCain's open borders stance will hurt him with conservatives. So will the fact that people are reluctant to put another Bush in the White House at any posistion. Gore will still be seen as a crybaby and a sore loser, and people will not have warmed up to Hillary yet. The election is a toss up on election night.

A dismal 39% of registered voters show up and produce these results.

Gore/Clinton - 47% - 268 EVs
McCain/Bush - 47% - 270 EVs
LaMarche/Cobb - 2%
Russo/Badnarik - 1%
Baldwin/Clymer - 0%

Pat LaMarche takes 13% in one of the congressional districts in her home-state causing it to swing to McCain - preventing the no electoral majority scenario and giving McCain a national win. McCain/Bush will win the popular vote by 19,000 votes...putting an end to future Gore for President movements.

The idea that part of Maine will go Republican is laughable.

Keep in mind it is only one district (Think the non-southern part is kinda backwoods area anyways), and that McCain isn't conservative as most GOP.

He isn't?  He seems completely conservative to me.  But I suppose it is true he isn't an offensive Southerner, and that probably counts for more.

It's not nessecarily going Republican as it is going Green. In Travis County (Austin, Texas) Bush won in 2000 with 5% of the vote - mainly because Nader took 10%. Pat LaMarche could have the same effect on a typically blue congressional district in her homestate.
