This is a dumb argument. Refugees and economic migrants are everywhere that is not an active war zone, and can be found in any country at every stage of economic development. The US is not unique in being a host for migration -- and is now itself an source of migrants on their way to Canada.
the US is the number one destination for immigrants, and it's not close.  There are more immigrants in the US than in all of western Europe combined.


Keep in mind that I'm not arguing the US is the best country in the world, or that it's even "good".  I'm arguing that it's not a 3rd world banana republic.  Which is easy to do because it's not.  Rather obviously.

In raw numbers yeah, though as a % of population not really. There are countries that both take more immigrants (Canada iirc) or that have a higher % share of immigrants (the United Arab Emirates at 88% immigrants being at the top of the list, but that is an example of what not to do)
