I didn't realize I had left Douglas off until the end, so I just tacked it on there rather than retype everything after it.

The only one I've even heard of is Hennepin, and I've never even been there.  Thus, I can't comment.

I don't like Rochester as a city, but it's cool how quickly it's trending our way.

In 1976, Ford got over 60% there (with a Minnesotan on the Democratic ticket)
In 1996, Dole won it.

Now we hold 3 out of 4 of Rochester's House seats and 1 out of the 2 Senate seats. And Olmsted County voted for Tim Walz over Gutknecht despite being Gutknecht's home county.

Beltrami, Hubbard, Hennepin, St. Louis, Lake

Beltrami:  Home of Bemidji, First city on the Mississippi, sister city of New Orleans, home base for both the men's and women's U.S olympic curling teams in 2006 and lots of Norwegian Lutherans who think voting Republican is just a little bit off color.

Hubbard:  Very pretty.. home, in part, to Itasca State Park, though I didn't have enough choices to also pick Clearwater... headwaters of the mighty Mississip'!

Hennepin (sp?)- Home to Minneapolis.. 'nuff said.

St. Louis-  Hasn't voted Republican since, well.. a very very long time.  And home to Duluth.. one of my favorite cities.

Lake-  So frickin' beautiful.  Also, home to Lutsen, one of the most beautiful places to ski.

I'll never be able to forgive Washington for producing Michele Bachmann.

But on the other hand, it was somewhat ironically the county in MN-6 she did the worst in. And she barely won her old State Senate seat too.

St. Louis. No Republican presidential contender has cracked 40 percent there since Hoover in 1932. Pawlenty got only 29 percent up there. Smiley
