RGB isn't going to be around much longer, and Breyer would also likely retire during a Biden ppresidency. Would McConnel hold there seats open like he did to Obama, or would he let Biden appoint a replacement?

50. McConnell would block Biden and if I'm not mistaken, he can refuse to allow hearings even if moderate Republicans object so long as he remains Senate majority leader.

52. Manchin and Sinema will start voting with Republicans as a "check on unfettered Democratic power".

I don't think they would vote against his justices unless he chose AOC. Sinema is truly moderate, and Manchin is more liberal than he votes because of WV, and wouldn't want to take the blame on the Dems loosing a key vote.

50, in terms of votes they just need 48 or 49 votes D votes, as Collins has never voted against a SC nominee and Murkowski would also be open to defecting, but McConnell would probably not let a vote occur, if he was Majority Leader, so the Democrats need 50 seats, so that Schumer is Majority Leader and allows a vote to happen.

Ds need to get to 51 with MT or KS, otherwise, if they settle for 50, then McConnell will have sway over anything that passes on the floor due to the power sharing agreement in 2000, when Cheney broke the tie for Rs.

Dems have enough seats after AZ, CO, ME and NC to ensure a solid majority: GA, IA, KS, KY, MT. KY and IA and KY are becoming more competitive😎😎😎

47 to 43, is bad for McConnell and 43 to 42 is bad for Ernst, no matter how many times Badger says Ernst and McConnell are safe
