6-3, this budget has passed.

Now, if we can just get the PPT in here to certify this fact and Joe Republic to approve of the budget...

Yes, right before an all new episode of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis, at 8:00 and 9:00 PM EST, only on Sci-Fi.

Phew, the budget is passed with one day to go.

I commend the Senate on their quick work, to ensure that we have at least something for this fiscal year.

What would happen if we didn't pass it?

I'm guessing the apocalypse would have happened.

Or, somebody would probably have gotten impeached.  I have a sneaking suspicion it would have been me.

Aye, with the understanding that the Senate will begin work on this issue promptly next term.

As far as I know, we won't be doing anymore work on the budget until after the presidential election.  We never do the budget on odd-numbered (this is the 11th) Senate Sessions.

Yes, yes. Not official work, Senators mentioned they had budget "cutting" proposals to debate.
