Doctor Who (2005), season 34 (although I keep going back and forth between it and season 45)

This is definitely my standard answer on such a question.

That being said I often watch TV shows in escapist binges a few/many years after they are first aired, so sometimes the seasons run together.

Season 3 of the Wire, with Season 4 a close second

This might well be my answer too.

Yeah, they were all really good as well (as was 5A, too) but the question posed concerned the "favorite season" lol

Wow, I can't believe I'm standing up for OSR, but yeah, torture aside, it is a really good show.

It was a really good show until Season 6 . Season 6 was terrible, Season 7 was good but no where near as good as seasons 1-5 , and Season 8 was terrible till the last 5 or so episodes. Season 9 was only 13 episodes , and the spinoff was terrible.

What's so sad about season 6 is it followed such a massive cliffhanger and if the season was about how the resolved that cliffhanger the season would have been great.

Anyway calling it propaganda like some people do is ridiculous because its so obviously over the top that it is obvious much of the things he does on that show is clearly illegal. I mean Jack in season 5 literally kidnaps the President of the United States  and tries to force him to confess and when he cant plants a bug on him. In season 3 he does this

How could anybody think what happens on the show can be done in real life after those two scenes

Doctor Who (2005), season 3 (although I keep going back and forth between it and season 4)

I think the second half of season 3 (from "Human Nature" on) is the best run of episodes in modern Who.  But when considering a whole season, my favorite is season 5 (Smith's first).

Huh. Personally season 5 is when I started losing interest in the show, and generally speaking I hate what Moffat did with it (OK, season 9 was pretty good and there are a few good episodes peppered through other seasons, but none that come remotely close to the best under RTD's run - even if, ironically, the best under RTD's run were written by Moffat), but to each their own.

Season 2 in House of Cards. I so much love how smart and tough Frank Underwood is maneuvering himself into the presidency.

The other seasons? Loved all expect the sixth, while the fifth is mixed. I watched parts from the last one and it didn't impress me. Friends who watched it told me it's poor. House of Cards without Frank Underwood isn't House of Cards.

In Season 5, I found it stunning how Frank and Claire rigged the 2016 election, but a bit disappointing he resigned the presidency so early after the swearing-in. If I was the author, I would have kept him in office for a while (this was all before the still unproven allegations came).
