Yeah. Most of the Democrats I know are straight white men.

When politics is discussed with other straight white men who may be Republicans or Libertarians, do they question them why they vote Democratic?

I mean no not really. They're just pretty in line with the ideas of the Democrats I guess. Stuff like gun control, pro-LGBT, pro-choice, higher minimum wage, whatever.

I think a lot of people base their political affiliation on their top issues or whatever. That's why I vote in the Republican primary for neocon types. So I imagine it's the same for a guy who is like, yeah my big issue is gun control, or legalizing weed, or living wage, or gay rights, or something else like that to vote Democratic.

Yes, but less and less with every passing year. Not sure that will be true quarter of century from now. Sometimes i imagine hearing following dialog (if not now, then - in near future):

"Are you woman?
No
Are you person of color?
No
Are you gay?
No.
The Republican party local office is next street!!!"

Identity politics conquered US....

Um... In Russia, do you normally ask if someone’s a minority?

No. I (and normal people) are absolutely "color, sex, sexual preferences and so on blind". I adamantely support equal rights for everyone (within law), and as adamantely oppose ANY preferences for anybody...

I meant that usually you can tell when someone is a minority, without asking.
