New Hanover, home of UNC-Wilmington, narrowly voted for Donald Trump, Mitt Romney and John McCain, while Roy Cooper and other democratic council of state members won this county in their respective wins. How does it vote in 2020?

I would say Tilt D or PTU. It might be one of those counties that vote D on the statewide level but vote R on the national level, like Ada County, ID.

As someone who lived there for a time I can attest that it is changing very quickly. Without Hillary as his opponent Trump is going to have to really fight to keep this one. Also keep in mind that Cooper will be on the ticket again and Tillis is not as popular as Burr. Oh, and the county installed a Democratic commission and school board this year.

Toss-Up/Tilt Dem.
